PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

The PFO filter has the filter cartridges in a horizontal position. They are extracted from the side for inspection, maintenance and replacement.

Each horizontal filter element is made up of a cartridge ø 325 x 1345 mm in length mounted on a steel wire support and centring frame. A module consists of 4 cartridges ø 325 x 1345 mm, with a total filter surface of 88 m2. Each module can treat, in relation to the nature and concentration of the dust, a quantity of air that varies from 4000 to 8000 m3/h.

The “reverse pulse jet” system with compressed air is commanded and controlled by an electronic sequencer, which opens and closes a 1” solenoid valve for each filter element and also continuously displays a reading of Δp. PFO filters are fitted with polyester cartridges with an efficiency rating of 99.92%. For slightly humid or oily dust, cartridges are used with an oil or water repellent treatment in Teflon® Resin; for oily or sticky dust, cartridges are used treated with a PW silicone based product. For hard to treat dust, bonded cartridges with a permeable Teflon® membrane are used. ME treatment is conferred to the cartridges, during production, with a permeable film in aluminium or stainless steel.

CHARACTERISTIC

Each PFO filter has a standard hopper with four supporting legs and a dust collection chamber ø mm 600 x 400 with a quick coupling connector.

Other solutions for unloading filtered dust (rotary valve, manual or motorised gate, double clappet gate, etc.) are provided on request.
